Internship Opportunity

The Snohomish Farmers Market is committed to promoting healthy eating and sustainable agriculture in Snohomish County by providing fresh agricultural products from small farms to urban customers, thereby building community and preserving Snohomish farmland. 

The Snohomish Farmers Market is looking for a responsible, dedicated, outgoing intern to assist with Farmers Market operations.  This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Farmers Market management, marketing, education, and knowledge about small farming, locally grown food and environmental issues.  Intern will have the option of choosing a focus  for their internship and work with Farmers Market staff to develop goals and projects in that area.

Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting on-site at Farmers Market
• Interacting with and assisting customers at Farmers Markets
• Assistment in Farmers Market Office
• Working with staff to create and complete internship goals and projects

Qualifications:
• College age or above
• Friendly and professional manner for working with the public
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extremely responsible
• Good computer skills
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Enthusiasm for Farmers Markets, small farmers and locally grown produce

This is an unpaid internship and interns can receive school credit or equivalent.  This internship requires a time commitment of at least 8 hours per week for a period of ten weeks or more.  Interns must be available to work at the Farmers Market on Thursdays for at least 4 hours between the hours of 12 to 4pm or 4-8pm.
